Responsibilities:
As a Cook, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods
- Preparing dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
- Cooking special meals for patients as instructed by a dietitian or chef
- Planning menus, determining food portion sizes, estimating food requirements and costs, and monitoring and ordering supplies
- Inspecting kitchens and food service areas
- Training staff in food preparation, cooking, and food handling
- Ordering supplies and equipment
- Supervising kitchen staff and helpers
- Maintaining inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
- Cleaning the kitchen and work areas
- Managing kitchen operations
