Kotzen Scholarship Information Guide (2023)

The Gilbert and Marcia Kotzen Scholarship Program is a competitive merit award that recognizes the best and brightest students interested in transformative education at Simmons University. It is the most prestigious award offered at Simmons and recognizes excellence through its emphasis on study abroad, scientific research, and intellectual curiosity.

The Kotzen Scholarship provides full tuition, accommodation, and meals, as well as an additional $3,000 for academic pursuits such as study abroad, research support, and more. This scholarship is awarded over a four-year full-time undergraduate period and replaces any previously awarded merit scholarship.

Eligibility Of Kotzen Scholarship :

  • Apply as the first year for the fall semester
  • Simmons is an optional test, so it’s your choice if you want to submit standardized test results with your application for admission. For those who choose to submit test results, a 28 or higher on the ACT and 1300 or higher on the SAT are recommended.
  • Non-native English speakers must pass an English proficiency test (TOEFL/IELTS, TOEFL BASICS, SAT/ACT scores or duolingo English test)
  • Average score 3.3 or higher, unweighted
  • College preparation curriculum, including an advanced level mathematics course during or before the end of the senior year of high school
  • Record of Honors, Advanced Courses (AP), and International Baccalaureate (IB) available in their high school systems

Students who meet the above criteria are often also interested in the Honors program at Simmons.

How much funds is provided in scholarship?

The Simmons University Kotzen Scholarship 2023 in the United States is a fully funded scholarship for international students to pursue a bachelor’s degree from the United States. It will cover all expenses. Details of the scholarship are given here please have a look:

Short Answer (no more than 250 words): How would you use your additional $3,000 annual bonus (for study abroad, short courses, summer internships, and/or research support)?

Formal essay (no more than 500 words): Some people claim that leaders are born rather than created, while others defend the opposing viewpoint, namely that leaders are “made.” Write an essay in which you defend a particular point of view. Use a specific example of a leader, drawn from history or personal experience, to support your argument.

Finalists selected to consider the scholarship will be required to be interviewed in February.
